Virtual Is Here to Stay, Sort Of

Ryan Pratzel

Virtual Events

A year ago the world was thrust into working from home and virtual events. Whether they were Zoom meetings, webinars or live streams, we all spent hours in front of our screens. Screen time was high. Platforms raced to adapt, add features and find a way to handle the increased throng of users. Now, a year later, it's clear virtual events will stick around in one form or another. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but navigating good virtual solutions hasn't gotten any easier.

Legislative Platform 2020

ITI approached our team with a challenge to develop a short video outlining the organizations 2020 legislative platform to key decision makers, lawmakers, candidates and their member organizations. This project included developing the script, storyboard, and casting.

The video heavily relies on motion graphics and narration to tell its story. Graphics were created in coordination with the client's designer who was developing a webpage for the platform launch. The client's logo, font and colors were incorporated to ensure a seamless branded experience.

Camera Compression

Often, I’ll hear newer shooters or filmmakers complain about having trouble manipulating and refining their footage in post, especially DSLR footage or more affordable cinema cameras. This is mainly due to compression. Think of it like a funnel. In order for a useful amount of video footage to fit onto small memory cards like SD cards, a digital cameras computer has to constrict the amount of information that’s saved.
