Heading Into Fall

Our blog has been quiet this past summer and with good reason, we'e been busy!  2016 has been a fantastic year of telling stories and working on some incredible projects.  While the year isn't over just yet, I wanted to take a moment to look at some of what we've worked on that may be of interest and some cool technology advancements that we've made this year.

Cool Projects

This summer we completed a short film for the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum.  This film will be featured in the Museum's Business Aviation exhibit at Udvar Hazy this fall.  In addition to a historical look back at business aviation, the film also features original content with businesses and organizations using business aviation today.  Stay tuned for more on this exhbiti launch!

We're also wrapping up a new public service announcement for the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation.  This PSA will broadcast nationally and will seek nominees for the Foundation's Citizen Honor Awards which are handed out in the spring.  As part of this project we had the honor of working with a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient.  The thirty second spot hits the airwaves this fall.

It's also been a busy summer serving many of our government clients.  We're busy evaluating what project we'll submit for annual awards.

Did you know, Creative Liquid is a GSA 541 Schedule contractor providing both web services and video production service?

In June, part of our team traveled to Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean to document Pets Without Vets.  This wonderful organization provides free spay/neuter clinics and veterinary care in countries and locations where this care is greatly needed.  Filming took place over a week in June and we produced a video for Pets Without Vets, Potcake Place (A rescue on the island) and a PSA for the TCI Government on the importance of spay and neuter.  Our web team also completed a new website for Pets Without Vets!

Tools and Technology

At the start of the year we doubled the storage in our Studio Network Solutions EVO.  This came in handy this year!  We produced several projects that were shot in 4K and several that were even edited in 4K.  EVO never skipped a beat.  Our edit suites kept moving and with speed and effeciency.

SNS featured us in a customer testimonial this summer.  Check it out!

In addition to editing storage capacity, we also added a second Sony F5 camera to our inventory.  We now have two F5's, one Sony A7Sii, our C100, and a mix of Panasonic P2 cameras.  Our F5's have become workhorses and were recently upgraded to Firmware V8.0 which features a higher bit rate internal 4K codec.

Wrap Up

I wanted this to be a quick wrap up of the summer.  Coming this fall, we're working on a new set of Practicals and continuing to improve the workflow and effeciency of our post production environment.  Stay tuned for future updates.
