
The Challenge.
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue processes over a thousand application forms each year. These forms were historically printed Word Documents, and had more recently moved to Printed and Electronic PDF forms. The challenge for the organization is that each approved application form must be either copied and pasted, or hand entered into their record system. This required a large force of volunteers to manage each week. In addition to the data entry, there also was a lack of a clear and consistent review and approval process. Many applications had hand written notes, or worse yet, had no notes at all, losing a significant portion of the big picture for each screened applicant.
The Solution.
Creative Liquid worked with Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to define their adoption application and review process, and define a standardized workflow for all new applicants to go through. This new screening process was then translated into an electronic form system, which would allow the applicant to apply online from any device with an internet connection. The application would then move through a review and screening process in the system. The final approval (or disapproval) is then automatically transferred into their record system, with all key details. All of this happening in real-time, instantly accessible by Lucky Dog staff and volunteers.
The Result.
The final system reduces the data-entry requirements for the organization, and allows them to focus their time on working with rescue animals, and placing them in loving, permanent homes. The new workflow process ensures that each step of the screening process occurs, and is documented, and provides a single place for the users to collaborate, and check the status of an application while it is in progress.
