Video Production

We're Moving!

Ryan Pratzel
It's hard to believe we've been in our office on King Street in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia for nearly ten years. We have grown substantially since our move from our original office in Arlington. Now it's time to expand! September 4th we're moving to a larger office just a few blocks away. This new space is nearly twice the size of our current office. The new office will continue to feature our fast 10GB editing network, but will also offer a larger collaborative creative space. The space will also feature a small insert studio for filming interviews and presentations.

Slight Name Change

Ryan Pratzel
You may have noticed a slight change to the logo on our website. Since we started this adventure in 2006, we've always been known as Creative Liquid Productions. In 2015, we added web services to our capabilities and now work on a variety of digital marketing projects. As part of our new office move we decided to make a small branding update.

Three Phases of Video: Pre Production

Ryan Pratzel
At a high level, a new video project can be broken down into three phases. Inside each phase is a set of milestones. This is the first in a series of three articles that will take a look at pre production, production and post production. This article is all about Pre production which is the planning phase of your video project. While it can often be overlooked, this phase should get your full attention and a portion of your overall budget. If you focus on pre production the other two phases should run smoother and you'll be happier with the end result.

Big Honors in 2018

Creative Liquid is honored to have won a Silver Telly Award for our work on the documentary Remembering Vietnam, produced for National Archives in Washington, D.C. The documentary was produced by our team in 2017 and debuted at a museum exhibit focused on the Vietnam War at National Archnives in November 2017. The documentary is on display in the exhibit through January 2019.

Video For Nonprofit Organizations

Ryan Pratzel
Video can be a costly and time consuming endeavor, so why should nonprofit organizations consider using video? It is one of the best ways to reach a broad audience and achieve results. Whether your target audience is donors, both corporate and individual, or promoting your organization's mission, video can do this effectively.

Business Aviation

The National Air and Space Museum approached Creative Liquid to produce an updated video for the Business Aviation exhibit at the Museum’s Udvar Hazy Center in Dulles, Virginia. This short film was produced in 4K and filmed with Creative Liquid’s Sony CineAlta cameras. The project took place over approximately six months and was delivered in Fall 2016. The film is now on display at the Business Aviation exhibit at Udvar Hazy

Informational Video

Care Conversations is a website providing information and guidance for individuals and families looking at long term care solutions. Creative Liquid was approached by marking and public relations firm Adfero to create a series of three videos that would be a key part of the new Care Conversations website. This project involved production management, crew, equipment, casting and post.

Restaurant Marketing

This video was produced as a marketing video for the Good Stuff Eatery/We The Pizza brand in Washington, DC. The project included interviews with key members of the company as well as footage inside of their store on Capitol Hill.  Our team worked on location for two days filming the operation and learning about the restaurants and what makes them unique.

Heading Into Fall

Ryan Pratzel

Our blog has been quiet this past summer and with good reason, we'e been busy!  2016 has been a fantastic year of telling stories and working on some incredible projects.  While the year isn't over just yet, I wanted to take a moment to look at some of what we've worked on that may be of interest and some cool technology advancements that we've made this year.

10 Years of Free Flowing Ideas

Ten Years

Ten years ago today, February 10, 2006, Creative Liquid Productions was born.  At the time, my goal was to start a creative firm that got me out of the newsroom and back in the field.  Mission accomplished!  In the past ten years we've grown, worked on some amazing projects, been honored with more than a dozen awards and continue to expand our services and capabilities.
